Don’t forget the windows
Smudges and smears are easily seen on windows, especially when the sunlight shines thorugh. Give them a good cleaning with a wet cloth. First, clean your frame, remove cobwebs & dust. Then clean your window, try using a fabric softener for a streak free shine. Dry everything with a lint free cloth to help avoid any water stains.
Dust your carpets
Carpets can harbour dirt, bacteria, pet hair and dust. To enjoy the warm soft feeling underneath your feet in the winter, make sure you clean them thoroughly. Larger rugs or carpets should be taken outdoors to be shaken a few times a year. You can also use a tennis racket to beat the rug or carpet outdoors to help strengthan that tennis arm!
Clean the curtains
Although not necessarily visible, they can hold everything from pollen to fumes. Make it point to clean at least twice a year in the washing machine. Hang them up to dry while wet to avoid them looking crinkly.
Blankets and pillows
You can usually just toss these into your washing machine. Wash any duvets and pillows seperately, add a tennis ball to help make sure any feathers don’t stick together. You will definately sleep better covered in clean blankets.
Hidden germs
From your door handles to your remote controls, don’t forget to clean areas harbouring potential bacteria. Often times we forget to clean these items and viruses can survive for several weeks on them. Use a disinfectant or vinegar based cleaning solution to help keep them clean.
